To make a marriage last, couples must become better friends, learn to manage conflict, and create ways to support each other’s hopes and dreams.
— Dr. John Gottman
For couples that have been together a little while and are wanting to improve their relationship, I use a tool called the “Gottman Relationship Checkup“. Drs. John and Julie Gottman created this assessment to help counselors and couples identify the strengths and struggles in the relationship. Topics include financing, parents, intimacy, and several more.
Each partner will complete the questionnaire prior to our first appointment and the results will be sent to me for review. I will use this information to help guide our sessions and work on next steps for our overall time together. You will not receive a copy of your own – it’s all in counselor speak!
I cannot predict how many sessions it will take for us to work together. I am happy to schedule with you on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on your schedule and budget.
